Fourth U.S. National Security Chief resigns during the Trump era

According to the British Broadcasting Agency, Kevin McAllen, acting US National Security Chief, resigned just six months after his appointment.

US President Trump confirmed Kevin Mack's resignation via tweet, saying that after spending several years with the government, Kevin Mack wanted to spend more time with his family and wanted to go to the private sector.

Trump said the new national security summit will be announced next week.

The US president also praised the job of the deputy national security chief and said we worked together to reduce the border crossing.

According to media reports, Kevin McKee, who was the fourth head of national security during President Trump, oversaw the US president's stringent policies aimed at preventing refugees coming from the Mexican border.

McQueen was appointed acting chief of national security after Krisjan Nelson's resignation in April.
